There have been many developments regarding trading in Palworld version 1.0, which has allowed merchants to provide the latest products, make alterations to their rates, and have bigger stores. Some of the traders that players know have rebalanced their collections, while new bases have opened with higher levels. Here is a breakdown of all merchants and the products that they sell.

Small Settlement

The Small Settlement continues to be among the best locations you can visit in the game. The merchant has many useful items for both cooking and crafting that include Cooking Ingredients, Electric Organs, Leather, Wool, Hardwood, and Simple Bait for fishing. The price of Pal Spheres has also lowered to 80 Gold, making them much cheaper to acquire.

If you are still on the Starting Island, the local merchant has the same stock as the merchant in Small Settlement, so there is no point in going there too early.

Fishing Village and Desert Village Traders

In the Fishing Village, you will encounter two merchants. The first one is responsible for selling weaponry and gear and thus has items such as Heat Resistant Pelt Armor, and Makeshift Handgun. The Makeshift Handgun is one of the strongest weapons available in early game but it’s pricier than some players might be able to afford.

Ammunition prices in the Fishing Village have been rebalanced as well. Rifle Ammo is fairly expensive while Coarse Ammo and Handgun Ammo are significantly cheaper. The cost of the ammo for makeshift weapons comes in at about 40 Gold per shot. The second merchant in the village sells only High Quality Pal Oil and High Quality Bait.

The Village in the Desert, which is sometimes referred to as Duneshelter, provides similar goods but substitutes the Makeshift Handgun with the Musket and sells Cold Protected Pelt Armor in place of the heat-resistant version. Thermal Undershirts and other gadgets are no longer available at this location, meaning players can only acquire Ice Organs from this merchant. Duneshelter is only worth visiting if it is necessary to buy either Cold Resistant Armor or Ice Organs.

Pal Traders and the Black Marketeer

Pal Traders specialize in selling Pals that are predominantly found in the surrounding area, facilitating customers in getting local creatures. They also provide an opportunity to sell captured Pals in exchange for Gold.

Black Marketeers are located at various places on the map, offering rarer Pals for much higher prices compared to normal Pal Traders. One of the Black Marketeers who can be found in the desert actually sells a Pal Segment.

Fishing can serve as another source of income as the fish are scaled according to your level. Thus, it is possible to catch a Level 55 Pal even with the most basic fishing rods and sell it for a good amount of Gold.

As you continue browsing the inventory of the Black Marketeer, you will find rare Pals like Digtoise, Wassect, Quivern, Cryolinx, Dualith, and other high-level Pals.

Visiting Merchants and Base Visitors

Your base can be visited by merchants from time to time. Newly created bases tend to get more merchant visits than older ones. Putting your base in a more open area can make visitors spawn correctly.

The Wandering Merchant can sell Paldium Fragments, Aquatic Pal Fluids, Simple Bait, and ammunition.

Merchants can be captured by using Pal Spheres. Capturing merchants is considered a criminal activity and gives you a Wanted level temporarily until it disappears with time if you avoid committing any extra crimes. Human NPCs are also capable of operating the Human-Powered Generator to produce electricity.

Trading Bonuses and Higher-Level Merchants

The Noble and Fine Furs, both of their passive skills boost the skill of trading. In combination, they improve the price of your goods you intend to sell while decreasing the cost of items in shops, and the effects of the two passives stack. Every Pal equipped with these two skills gives an approximate 8% reduction in prices while buying.

Investigate how many Pal Recruiters you have seen visiting you in your Base. Usually, there will be just one of them visiting each day and they will leave your base if you don’t catch them. Some examples of that are a Level 19 Braloha or a Cattiva.

Merchant varieties depend on the Base Level that you have, and not player levels. In lower Bases, you will get only Wandering Merchants and basic Recruiters, while in higher Bases, other types such as Caravan Leaders, Butchers in Training, Heavy Arms Merchants, Pharmaceutical Suppliers and High-Level Cooks will be available.

Advanced merchants will have products that you’ll need for your game. Those include Missile Ammo, Energy Cartridges, Legendary Ammo, Plasma Rifle Ammo, Energy Shotgun Ammo, Mysterious Shrooms, Cavern Shrooms, High Quality Recovery Medicines and prepared meals which give you Attack +20% or Defense +20% bonuses.

The PalDB merchant map you use isn’t actual anymore. Some locations of Black Marketeers have changed since the update, but most of the towns of regular merchants haven’t changed. Don’t forget to hide your Pals before attacking or catching a merchant.
