The Deathstalker Commander drops some legendary materials in MW4 DMZ for FOB upgrades and crafting. It may be tough to take it down when playing solo, but SAM sites and the SAM airburst turret provide inexpensive methods to destroy it. This guide discusses both ways to eliminate the Deathstalker Commander as well as a different method using Rose’s sniper rifle.

Use SAM Sites To Eliminate The Deathstalker

The SAM sites can knock out the Deathstalker without you firing a single bullet in the entire encounter, so use this technique with the Air Superiority trait as it allows UAV towers and SAM sites to remain active longer.

First, locate the Deathstalker and the closest SAM site. Then, interact with the SAM site to start capturing it. When the capturing process reaches around 80-90%, shoot the Deathstalker so that it comes closer to you. After you have captured the site, stay safe and check from time to time if the helicopter is still nearby.

While you are hiding from the enemy, the SAM site will continue launching missiles toward the Deathstalker while the latter will be deploying the flares to avoid the missile hit. The SAM site might run down before it kills the helicopter, however, the Air Superiority trait will help you in this situation.

Once the Deathstalker is destroyed, locate its wreckage and collect the loot. However, the wreckage can land on buildings or in difficult-to-reach areas, making it harder to find.

Use The SAM Airburst Turret

The SAM Airburst Turret is a portable field upgrade that allows you to destroy the Deathstalker without capturing a SAM site. It takes three detonators and 30 medals to build. Alternatively, you can buy it from a vendor for $2,000 when it is in stock.

When you use the SAM Airburst Turret as your field upgrade, you need to spot the Deathstalker and approach it at ground level. Fire your weapon at the helicopter so that it gets within a 200 meters radius of you. Deploy your Airburst Turret and let it destroy the enemy helicopter.

Usually, the SAM Airburst Turret will destroy the helicopter pretty quickly, but it can sometimes die before it finishes its task. One advantage of this method is that the wreckage typically lands near your position, making the loot easier to locate.

Use Roze’s Sniper Rifle

Another alternative is to use Roze’s sniper rifle, which is thought to be known as the Asteroth. The weapon is very effective in combat against the Deathstalker, but taking it to a match creates the danger of being eliminated and subsequently losing possession of the sniper rifle.

Which Strategy Should You Use?

Both the SAM-based strategies are budget-friendly ways to take out Deathstalker solo. The SAM sites will come in handy as long as one is nearby, while the portable SAM Airburst Turret is convenient because it usually destroys the helicopter near your position.
