The Nature’s Fury quest is one of the missions included in the Knights of the Nine expansion of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. Rather than a typical combat-heavy quest, this trial gauges your self-control and regard for nature. Grading you with the Boots of the Crusader, a significant artefact in the Crusader holy armour set, completion is an honour well earned.
Starting the Quest
Discovering the Shrine of Kynareth
Following the completion of the Priory of the Nine quest, head to the Shrine of Kynareth, which is located west of the Imperial City in a serene forest glade. There are no enemies there—only a simple shrine visited by pilgrims.
Talking to Avita Vesnia
Speak to Avita Vesnia, the caretaker of the shrine. She says that to gain Kynareth’s favour, you must first demonstrate worthiness in the Grove of Trials. Her one tip: “Respect nature.” There will be no quest markers to lead you, so you will have to discover the grove on your own.
Completing the Trial
Finding the Grove of Trials
The grove is close by—search the woods around it until you find a hidden, tiny clearing. Enter, and wait a moment.
The Bear Test
A brown bear will come and attack. Key Rule:
- Do not fight back.
- While aggressive, you may not hurt the bear.
- Dodge by using dodging movement (strafe, block, or move in circles) to prevent damage.
- Heal with Restoration spells or potions as needed.
Once you’ve survived the attack without fighting back, a message shows up:
“A hidden cave has been revealed.”
The bear will cease attacking and exit, signalling victory on your part.
Collecting Your Reward
Walking up to the Hidden Cave
Travel north to the rim of the grove, where an old hidden cave entrance lies open now. Inside, follow the short, straight route—nothing traps or attacks you.
Getting the Boots of the Crusader
In the rear of the cave, the Boots of the Crusader rest on a stone pedestal. Take them in order to complete the quest.
