When you first explore your realm you will encounter an Essence Trader. You need to talk to him to get access to his wares. Over here, you will get the schematic to craft the simple fishing rod. It will cost 30 Essence Dust to purchase the schematic. Once you do that, you now need to gather the following materials to craft it
- Wood Bundle x1
- Animal Fiber x2
- Bones x1
Now that you have a fishing rod, you can catch some fish to take with you. To do that, equip your fishing rod and head over to the nearest water body, then toss your line using the same button for attacking. All you have to do now is wait for a fish to appear and catch your line. You will notice the name of the fish when it has caught the bait. Once it is on the line, you have to angle away from it and press the same button that you cast the line with so there is some tension between you and the caught fish. A small mini bar will appear on your screen, and you have to maintain the tension in the middle. Keep moving and angling away to steady the line. Once the timer reaches the end, you can reel in the fish and cook it to restore stamina
