Not all gear is eligible for upgrading post update. The only gear you can upgrade all the way to level 700 are named gear. Also, if your named gear is over 650, then you have a better chance to upgrade it to level 700. Unnamed items will not get any upgrade facility, and if your named items are below 600 then the only way you can upgrade them is via shards. If your gear meets the above requirements, then you can quickly start the upgrading process.

To upgrade your gear, you need the required materials. There are some new materials that you need to acquire, such as dark matter, gypsum orbs, and matrixes. You can get all these items via crafting if you have the necessary resources, or purchase them from vendors. They can also drop from enemies, but that could be quite rare. If you wish to craft them, you should be aware that you need to be level 250 in Trade Skills to craft the new items. Now all that is left is to take the items to the Gypsum Kiln to upgrade your gear. You can now use your newly upgraded gear and level it up by using it in PvP, PvE, and following the main story quest.
