There are a few ways you can get dark matter in the latest DLC. The first method involves salvaging your inventory items. There is a high chance of getting dark matter if you salvage legendary gear. With the latest expansion, most of the items in your inventory will be rendered useless, so it is safe to get rid of them and make space for new items. If you really need to keep some items, then it is best to keep legendary named items that you have found in the Rise of the Angry Earth DLC. If you have a lot of inventory items, it is best to salvage them, and hopefully you will get some dark matter.
Other ways to get dark matter is by participating in PvP battles, quests, and also sometimes from enemy drops.
