In Star Wars: Galactic Racer, you will be able to participate in races against other players on an online level. There is an option to race either with your friends or with other people playing on different gaming platforms, with several types of multiplayer racing to select from. This guide explains how multiplayer works, the available modes, player limits, and some useful tips to help you get started.

How Multiplayer Works in Star Wars: Galactic Racer

In Star Wars: Galactic Racer, there is a competitive multiplayer mode that lets you compete with other players from PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Star Wars: Galactic Racer offers cross-platform multiplayer, which means you can compete with other players using various platforms.

The multiplayer mode includes PvP racing, which includes not only standard races on repulsorcraft but also podracing races. The standard multiplayer races allow 12 players to compete, whereas the podracing events allow 8 players to compete.

Multiplayer Modes

Here are some options available in the multiplayer mode of Star Wars: Galactic Racer for competing.

  • 12 Player Modes:
    • In the Multiplayer Tour, six events take place. In the first five races, players have a chance to get prizes and upgrade their vehicles. The final race in the championship can be influenced by the decisions made during the previous races.
    • Quick Race is the simplest way to participate in the multiplayer mode by engaging in a quick multiplayer race. This is the easiest way when all you want to do is compete with other players.
  • 8 Player Modes:
    • Quick Podrace is dedicated to the podracers, providing players with an opportunity to compete with each other in a race that is more dangerous than regular repulsorcraft events.
    • The Podracing Tour follows a similar structure but focuses entirely on podracing. It gives players a multiplayer version of the game’s high-speed podracing experience.

How to Start Multiplayer

To create or join a lobby, all you need to do is head over to the main menu and select the Multiplayer tab. At the top right corner of your screen is where you can view your current Party setup. You will also notice an assigned key to open the Party menu, where you can either select the Create New Party option or edit your existing party.

If starting a new party, select the Invite option to add friends who you wish to play with. They will get your invitation and will either accept or reject the offer to join. Once your party is formed, all you need to do is select your preferred game mode to start playing together.

Do remember that crossplay is allowed, so you can join players from other platforms as well.

Tips for Multiplayer

Multiplayer racing requires a different strategy than single-player mode. With people playing against you, knowing how to handle the track and when to boost, take down, and defend becomes important.

In the case of a Multiplayer Tour, one should not concentrate solely on winning every race in the tour. The development of your vehicle during the first five events becomes equally important, as the last race decides the result of the whole tour.

Podracing in Star Wars: The Old Republic Online requires you to handle the vehicle at higher speeds. Podracers are very fast, and a crash would mean loss of valuable time in the race.

If you are new to the game, playing Arcade events first can also help you learn the tracks and vehicle handling before entering competitive multiplayer.
