Unlike PlayStation players, Xbox users don’t have the option to disable crossplay from the in-game settings, but you can do so otherwise through the Xbox settings. This method was detailed by Reddit user u/ChubbyNemo1004. To start, just follow the steps below.
- Once you are in the Xbox menu, select the settings option.
- You can even press the Home button on your controller to access the settings menu
- From there, head over to the General tab
- Select the Online Safety and Family option
- Find and select the Privacy and Online Safety option
- After that, click on Xbox privacy and select the View Details and Customize option
- From there, select communication and multiplayer, and scroll down till you can find the cross-network play option.
- Disable or block this option
To know if the settings have worked, you need to restart your Xbox, then load MW2. Select the multiplayer option, enter your Microsoft password, then once you enter the next screen, select the Cancel option. You will still load into multiplayer, but you will only be matched in lobbies having Xbox players.
