One of the main quests found in Mistfall Hunters involves taking down the Elite Greataxe Berserker. This can prove to be tricky if you are playing alone but knowing about the boss mechanics and using the correct methods can help alleviate difficulties. This guide contains all the important information you’ll need to defeat the boss.
Find the Elite Berserker
In the main quest For Whom the Bell Tolls, the goal is to eliminate the Elite Berserker. After joining either a single-player or co-op match, open your map and locate the red boss icon. The Elite Berserker can spawn in various locations, so you may have to search the map thoroughly to encounter it.
It is possible to defeat the boss with only starting equipment; however, using better gear would make the fight easier. More healing items could also be used for added safety.
Stay Inside the Boss Arena
Upon arriving at the boss’s location, you will find yourself inside an arena which can be identified by a red icon. The Elite Berserker can be found in different boss rooms; hence, the arena may not always look the same.
One important mechanic is that leaving the arena causes the boss to regain all of its health. If you are in a trio match, only one of your partners can quickly leave the arena without the boss regenerating his health, but once all of you are outside or the boss suddenly targets one of you, he will come back stronger than ever.
Use a Melee Weapon Instead of Spells
While fully charged spells do deliver 20-30 damage, using charge attacks can make the battle much slower. Moreover, fighting from afar enables the Elite Berserker to use ranged attacks, which limits the chances to inflict damage.
Switching to a mace could make the fight much easier. Ordinary melee strikes deal 18-20 damage per strike and do not require any charge time, so the player could keep on attacking.
Survive the Fight
The Elite Berserker is invincible, therefore it is essential to move strategically and watch for opportunities to strike. You can also use spells to summon turrets, slow the boss down, or use healing spells in extreme cases. Despite the fact that the healing spell heals considerably faster than potions, it was not necessary to defeat the boss.
The duel can go on for about eight to nine minutes with the player managing to overcome it on his own.
Whenever a new player comes into the arena, he or she will be able to help eliminate the boss, but they can also hit you. Therefore it is advisable to conclude the fight with the opponent prior to other players arriving.
What Happens If You Go Down?
In solo play, players get one self-revive one time. But getting knocked out means the game will treat that as leaving the game. This resets the Elite Berserker’s health to full. After reviving, the player can switch from spells to the mace, effectively defeating the boss.
Once the Elite Berserker is taken down, the player can loot the boss for random rewards before finishing the Quest For Whom the Bell Tolls and continuing on to the next quest.
