How to Unlock Factions in Last Epoch
You can unlock factions after reaching Chapter 9. You will get a quest “Merchants and Fortune Tellers” after reaching Maj’elka city. Find and speak with Zerrick in the upper district to learn more about each faction. This is a brief introduction on the factions, and you can learn more about them once you talk to each of the faction’s representatives. Below are what each faction offers
- Circle of Fortune: Great for getting opportunities to farm Exalted and Set items. Increases item drops and is a preferred choice if you are playing solo or in a group. If you wish to farm Prophecies and Lenses, then you can purchase them here using Favors
- Merchant’s Guild: If you want to focus solely on trading, then this faction is for you. The higher your rank, the higher the rarity of items you can buy or sell. You can use Favors to create trade listings to help purchase items from other players
You can always leave a faction if you change your mind later on and join another faction. So don’t fret if you think you have joined the wrong one. The only drawback to changing factions is that you cannot take items from one faction to another. So if you have items tagged with the Merchant’s Guild, then those will be removed after joining Circle of Fortune
How to Unlock Faction Features in Last Epoch
Once you join a faction, the only way you can utilize whatever goods and services they offer is by using Favors. You can collect Favors by playing the game, which includes completing quests, killing monsters, and participating in activities. Once you have accumulated enough favors, you can unlock and use the features offered by the faction
Which Faction should you Choose?
If you wish to not make any more progress in quests and want to focus solely on your character build, then you can join the Merchant’s Guild. This will help you unlock various trading items and you can sell items too. But items once purchased cannot be resold, so pick wisely. If you are looking for character progression instead, then picking Circle of Fortune is best. This guild is great for grinding drops, especially if you are looking for legendary or unique items
