The Illusionist’s Cache is a dungeon located on Desolate Peak, where the illusion portals inside alter the dungeon’s layout. To solve the puzzle inside the dungeon, you need to operate these portals.
Also, you need to hit a bell so it will activate the platform, and place a pillar on the pressure plate. In the course of exploration of the dungeon, you will find the following items as rewards: the Shuddering Stone; the Robe of Lavender; and the Dorsal Light.
How to Reach Illusionist’s Cache
To arrive at the dungeon, make your way towards the Citadel of Penance and cross the bridge leading to the area directly across from you. There are several teleporters at this location that can be used to arrive at the proper destination, from where the player can walk through a portal to find the elevator leading to the Illusionist’s Cache.
Illusionist’s Cache Puzzle Solution
Upon reaching the bottom floor of the building, you will find yourself in a room with a blocked path and enemies nearby. Use the magic archway on the left, which is blocked behind some wooden crates in the starting area, to make changes to the dungeon structure so that you can continue.
Now go to the new room and look to the left side to find boxes against a wall with a sign. Destroy the boxes and hit the wall to find a secret passage. You can also access this location by falling down in the hole and using the elevator.
After that, go left and upstairs and clear obstacles on your way until you come across another illusion portal. Take a look around and you should spot a bell behind the portal. Take a gun and fire the bell to make the platform appear.
Now go through the portal to change the room again. Instead of just a hole in the floor, the area under your feet will be solid, and you will be able to access the pillar that is movable. Move to the back of the pillar and hit it to send it toward the pressure plate.
Once the pillar is positioned correctly, circle back to the portal and pass through it again. The room will return to its previous layout, but the pillar will remain on the pressure plate. This keeps the opening on the side accessible, allowing you to enter the previously blocked area.
Inside, you’ll find a chest containing the Shuddering Stone. After collecting it, pick up Lavender’s Robe, which provides a new Mortal clothing unlock.
Continue through the dungeon and break through the marked walls to reach the next section. You’ll encounter an area containing Gloom, followed by another breakable wall. Destroy it to reach the final section of the dungeon, where you can collect the Dorsal Light.
Illusionist’s Cache Rewards
The dungeon contains several rewards to collect while progressing through the puzzle:
- Shuddering Stone
- Lavender’s Robe, a new Mortal clothing unlock
- Dorsal Light weapon upgrade material
- Gloom in the later section of the dungeon
The Shuddering Stone is the main reward from the chest and it offers the following ability: Projectiles generate a Knockback shockwave on impact.
