Using the Third Person view will help you get a better standpoint on your surroundings, including approaching enemies and vehicles. Some fans prefer not to engage with this view, since it gives them an undue advantage, and defeats the purpose of what a first-person shooter should be. Third person view will be available upon MW2’s official release, but if you are using the early access version, you can enable third person by changing the FOV. You can do that by going to Settings > Graphics > Third Person FOV. Adjust the value to your liking.
Hopefully on official release there will be a function solely to enable Third Person View, and probably that will have a setting of its own. You can check the settings options and head over to the graphics settings to see what your options are. This feature is unlike anything that was available in the previous Call of Duty titles, so it is worth a shot to experience the gameplay in a different perspective.
