The Unfound Path Vault, also referred to as the Obsidian Vault, is among the three primary components of the Unfound Path in Mortal Shell 2. For you to gain entry to the Vault, you have to access the Unfound Path and travel down the pathway from the Brether’s Court Beacon.
Unlock the Unfound Path
To proceed into the Unfound Path, you require a total of 168 Ova/Ovum. Ova can be acquired through cleansing the eligible Beacons and by completing Corrupted Gate routes which includes bosses. Early examples include 1 Ovum from Blackridge Pass, 1 from Mushroom Village, and 3 from Mushroom Village Gate.
Once acquired, resurface back to Marrow Keep and take the path downwards towards the central pit. Make sure to pass through the Bone Gate for entry into the Unfound Path.
Once you have gone past the Bone Gate, defeat the enemies around you and collect resources before proceeding through the next Bone Gate. After coming out from the other side of the gate, make a left turn towards the Chamber of the Forsaken Beacon.
Leave the Chamber of the Forsaken Beacon by proceeding from its left side while following the ledge on its side. Keep heading to the right along the path without taking the nearby Bone Gate. Continue moving along until you reach another Bone Gate where the path leads further into the Unfound Path.
Reach Brether’s Court
Once you pass the Bone Gate, head further into the area and up the steps. You will find the Brether’s Court Beacon on the right.
Do turn on the beacon first before proceeding. On the right side of the courtyard, there is a chest that can be opened. After that, go to the left side of the closed gate and operate the lever.
Go through the gate and defeat enemies that you find inside. Use the left staircase to go to the upper floor. After that, be sure to investigate the open sections for any loot. Once you have finished exploring, follow the hallway and descend the ladder.
Find the Obsidian Vault
At the bottom of the stairs, turn left and drop down toward the lowest level. The Obsidian Vault Beacon is located here, so activate it before exploring the surrounding area.
When done with the activation of the Obsidian Vault Beacon, keep advancing further. The path will eventually take you to the boss called The Monolith, who is affiliated with the Obsidian Vault.
The Monolith is a rather large and mobile monster, and there is little space for you to move in. Defeat it to clear the Obsidian Vault branch of the Unfound Path. After the fight, you will be returned to the central section of the Unfound Path.
What Unlocking the Obsidian Vault Does
Obsidian Vault is among the three paths to be cleared in the Unfound Path. The other two are Faithful’s Shelter, which is blocked by Malborn Offspring, and Bridge of Procession, where the boss is called Orrem, the Discarded Golem. Defeating bosses from each of the paths will help you to get rid of the corruption and reach the center of the Unfound Path.
After arriving at the Obsidian Vault, it’s time to activate Beacons at this place as it helps to create a checkpoint to go back later. Furthermore, activated Beacons will help you resurrect Genessa the Wayward.
