The Repair Tool is one of the most important tools to unlock early in Subnautica 2. It allows you to repair damaged machinery, sealed doors, and vehicles, which is necessary to access new areas and continue progressing through the game. To unlock it, you will need to scan three Repair Tool fragments found in different underwater locations. In this guide, we will show you where to find each fragment and how to unlock the Repair Tool blueprint.
How to Unlock the Repair Tool
The Repair Tool is one of the most important tools available in Subnautica 2 since it allows you to repair any broken equipment or vehicle, including doors. To obtain the blueprint of the tool, you need to scan three fragments of the Repair Tool using your Scanner. Once all three fragments have been scanned, the Repair Tool blueprint will be unlocked in your Fabricator.
First Repair Tool Fragment

Swim from your Lifepod towards the southeast direction. Move towards the tall rock formations coming out from the water’s surface. Find the pillar that has a brightly lit object hovering underneath. Diving beneath this pillar will reveal a facility door that is left open. Step into the facility, where you can find the first Repair Tool fragment lying on the table.
Second Repair Tool Fragment

Following the scan of the first fragment, leave the place and start swimming north. Very soon, you’ll see a shipwreck that is very large in size. You’ll need to go under this wreck and locate an opening underneath it. There could also be other helpful objects, such as the Tadpole fragment and the Bioreactor fragment, inside the wreck. Swim through this wreck to reach the other side, where the second fragment is present.
Third Repair Tool Fragment

In order to find the third and last piece, you need to return to your Lifepod and make your way southward direction in the water towards another wrecked vessel. Once inside, head to the left side and look for the couch. This is where you will find the last fragment of the Repair Tool.
