God of War Ragnarok is scheduled to be released in a few hours and players will need to be at the top of their game to conquer this new update. One of the ways to make travelling through the Nine Realms easier is through Mystic Gateways which is a mechanic available to players since the original God of War (2018). Read on to find out how you can unlock Mystic Gateways in God of War.
Guide to Unlocking Mystic Gateways in God of War Ragnarok
Mystic Gateways are essentially fast waypoints which will make exploring through the Nine Realms easier. They can be naturally unlocked through story progression so don’t keep your main questline hanging too long.
When Kratos and Atreus meet their favourite dwarves Sindri and Brok again, they are shown to be capable of unlocking Mimir’s Bifrost Eyes to make travel easier between the realms- much to the chagrin of Odin.
If you are here, then chances are you still have your bit of story left to play through. As you continue playing through the story, the above encounter will happen and once the first Mystic Gateway is accessible, you’ll soon unlock others as you explore the map and continue playing the story and doing all the quests.
As you gain access to more areas and realms, we encourage you to take your time to explore every corner of these regions as there are plenty of these Mystic Gateways waiting to be unlocked. They do not immediately appear on the map but once you unlock one, they remain marked on your map and unlock the others you’ve already accessed.
You can freely use a Mystic Gateway while at another Mystic Gateway and the more you’ve explored and progressed through the story, the more Mystic Gateways you’ll have the chance to unlock. The more of them you have unlocked, the more readily you can return to your previous area or save points and this will make farming for materials to level up your gear much easier and more convenient.
