Cubical Device Puzzle Solution in The Past Within: Chapter 1
As The Past Within is a co-op game, you will need two players. One will play as Past and the other as Future. They will have different objects on their screen and will need to remain in contact throughout the game to help each other and complete it.
The first puzzle that the players will encounter in this game is the puzzle involving the cubical device. It is a machine that looks like a computer. The player playing Past will have a letter on the left side while the one playing Future will see the machine. Future needs to click on the Red Switch and turn on the machine. It will say the following:

The machine contains a memory that you need to unlock in the Future. Press the Enter key as directed, and the game will tell the player playing Future that they are making a connection to the Past. The one playing Past should open the letter and read out the date to the other player. The year is 1926, and it needs to be entered on the Future’s screen.
If you are not in contact with the other player, this game will not work. As soon as Past relays the year to Future, they will need to enter the year into their screen for the game to move forward. The Future screen will have some flashing blocks on the screen. They will need to relay them to Past as there is another item beside the letter.
The other item is a box with 9 slots, and Past will need to click on the right slots to open the locked box. The code is as follows:
Once the Past player has entered the code, the Future player will need to confirm that the box has been opened. Now, you will be able to find the matchbox on the Past player’s screen. This will teleport the player to the Future.
