The best ways to look for scrap are inside the abandoned buildings on each moon you uncover. You can find a handful of moons to explore during early game, and the deeper into the game you go, the more moons you can discover. Within each of them you will find buildings that hold valuable items that you must take back to the company. Sometimes, you will also find items outside buildings, like hives and audio logs. These can be worth some cash too, so don’t forget to pick them up.
Once you have gathered enough scraps to meet the quota that the Company has provided for you, you can head back to your ship and find a way to sell them. To sell your scraps, head over to the Company building. You can find this option when you make your way to your ship and access the terminal. Select the option to find all moons you can travel to, and type in Company Building. Confirm your selection and take off to that moon. Once you land, gather all your collected scraps and place them on the Company’s shop counter. Ring the bell on the counter once you are done, then head back to your ship to get your paycheck.
Be sure you have placed all your items on the counter before ringing the bell, and breaking any of the rules will have you and your teammates killed. Don’t forget to read the manual on the ship to know more about how to sell your scrap, as there are a few rules you need to follow.
