Gotham Knights co-op works a bit differently. There are no consequences for leaving a multiplayer mission mid-way and playing solo, so you can toggle freely between multiplayer and solo play whenever you wish. With that said, only two playable characters are allowed to control, but you don’t have to stick around the team while exploring the city.
Also, the more players get added to a world, the more the difficulty will scale. Enemies and bosses will get tougher, and this is a good tactic used to combat the growing influx of players. If a player or group of players leave, then the difficulty goes down a bit. Also, any high-ranking player that has joined a server with low leveled players will be scaled in ranking to be on par with the team. Before you can start inviting your friends, you need to complete the first tutorial mission, as well as Case 1.2, where you have to investigate Dr. Langstrom’s corpse. After that, you can signal to your friends to join you.
How to Join a World in Gotham Knights
- Head into the game’s Main Menu
- Click on Multiplayer
- Wait to be set up in a random world.
- If you have the invite link to a friend’s world, you can click on that as well
How to Invite Friends in Gotham Knights
- Head into the game’s main menu
- Click on Social
- Select the Friends tab
- Scroll through the list and find the friend who you wish to play with
- Select the friend and hold down the Invite Player button
You can also set some particular settings to your world by making it public or inviting only. To do that, press the left button on the D-Pad of your controller/ C for the keyboard, then press the up button for Privacy. You can change it to Public, Friends, and Friends of Friends, or invite only.
