Ring of Defence is a great item you could use to increase your survival when fighting enemies in Gothic 1 Remake. It could be located in a locked chest of the Old Camp castle, but to get it, you have to solve the lockpick puzzle. In this guide, we will tell you the location of the chest and the correct lock combination to get the Ring of Defence in Gothic 1 Remake.
How to Get the Ring of Defence
Ring of Defence can be found within Thorus’s chest in the Old Camp castle. You should proceed to the second floor of the castle and go through the hallway until you reach its very end. After that, enter the room located on the right side and search the chest situated at the bottom of the bed in the far left corner of the room. Unlock it and get the Ring of Greater Dexterity.
For opening the chest, begin by rotating Plate 4 to the left for one step. Then rotate Plate 5 to the left for two steps, after which Plate 2 is rotated to the left for six steps. The next step should be to rotate Plate 6 to the right for two steps. Following this, Plate 4 is rotated to the left for two steps again, followed by Plate 5 and Plate 2 being rotated to the left for four steps each.
Plate 6 should now be rotated to the right for three steps. Plate 4 should also be rotated to the left for three steps. Plate 3 should then be rotated to the left for one step. After that, Plate 5 is rotated to the left for six steps while Plate 2 is rotated to the left for three steps. Plate 6 is then rotated to the right for three more steps.
Do note that this method of lock picking has been done on the basis of the basic Lockpicking skill. If your Lockpicking skill is already mastered, the lock mechanics would change; hence, this method wouldn’t work for you.
