The axe of Bran is an important quest item that you will need in the Up to His Neck quest in the Gothic 1 Remake game. But unlike other items that can be obtained just by opening some nearby chest, Bran’s Axe is found within a locked chamber beneath the tavern of the New Camp. In this guide, we’ll show you how to reach the secret room, unlock the chest, and claim Bran’s Axe for yourself.
How to Get the Bran’s Axe
If you are trying to enter the locked room of the tavern in the New Camp, go to the back of the tavern and jump into the water. You will notice a current underwater which will indicate the way into the basement. All you need to do is just follow it until you see the stairs that lead you out.
After you climb the staircase, you will land at the secret room where you can discover Bran’s corpse as well as the tavern chest which can be looted. Bran’s Axe can be found inside the New Camp Tavern Chest. It is a very crucial item for completing the Up to His Neck quest.
It should be noted that this lock-picking trick was tested on the base version of the Lockpicking skill without any upgrades. As a result, once this skill is upgraded, the lock will act differently, and this approach won’t work anymore.
In order to open the chest, you should first rotate the 3rd Plate three times to the right. Afterwards, rotate the 4th Plate to the left four times, followed by rotating the 6th Plate to the right four times. In addition to that, rotate the 1st Plate two times to the left and two times to the right.
Next step will be to rotate the 3rd Plate six times to the left. Furthermore, rotate the 4th Plate three times to the right, followed by rotating the 6th Plate five times to the left. The last thing to do is to rotate the 2nd Plate two times to the left.
