You can get the Ray Gun for immediate use during a match by finding it in loot crates, reward rifts, and mystery boxes. The drop rate for the Ray Gun is extremely rare, so you have to complete several activities in a match to find it. Completing Bounty Contracts in Red Zones is one way of unlocking Reward Rifts. But you have to complete several contracts and open up several reward rifts to find the Ray Gun. Destroying Aether Nests and Strongholds will also have a chance of dropping the Ray Gun. Once you find it, you can equip it to use during the match. But once you exfil, you will find that it is gone, since you can use the Ray Gun once per deployment.

To permanently own the Ray Gun, you have to craft it using the schematic. To get the schematic, all you have to do is get the acquisition box and exfil with it without equipping the Ray Gun during a match. If you follow the above methods, you will eventually find the acquisition box for the Ray Gun. Exfil without using it, then head over to the Schematics Crafting menu to craft the Ray Gun. You can then equip it in your loadout and use it during your next match. Just be warned that the weapon has a 48 hour cooldown after use, so you can’t use it for two days if used during your current match.
