Lead is an important resource in Subnautica 2 that you will need in the game for crafting important tools and advanced materials. It is useful for making the Sonic Resonator, a tool that allows you to break large resource deposits and gather materials more efficiently. Lead is also used to craft Germanium, which becomes important for more advanced recipes later in the game. In this guide, we will show you where to find Lead and how it is used in crafting.
How to Get Leads

Move towards your lifepod and swim further to the north side of the region, near the 30° mark on your compass. Move forward a bit from there, and you should come across a place where you’ll find:
- Large deposits of Lead
- Small nodes of Lead
This makes it a great location to collect a lot of Lead in one trip. Take along the Sonic Resonator, which lets you break the large Lead deposits and earn Lead quickly. On your way down, you might come across some Nibblers and Armours, but they shouldn’t be a problem. The chasm will have many lead deposits scattered all over the place. There are many nodes here to mine from, so it is one of the best mining areas.
How to Use Lead
Lead is an important crafting material in Subnautica 2 and is required for several useful items and resources. Sonic Resonator is one of the most significant tools in the game because it breaks large resource nodes. To craft the Sonic Resonator, you will need:
- 1 Basic Battery
- 2 Titanium Ingots
- 2 Lead
- 1 Wiring Kit
Since the sonic resonator makes it easier for you to collect large mineral nodes, it would be important if you collect lead at the beginning of the game. Another material that will require Lead for its production is Germanium. 2 Leads are needed to create Germanium. Since Germanium is used in more advanced recipes, keeping a supply of Lead will be helpful as you progress through the game.
