Among all the tools you can find in the Slaughter Family’s residence, including the basement, the bone shiv is the only weapon you can use in the game. The bone shiv does not just come in handy to attack, but many things in the game require the bone shiv. So, if you don’t know yet, we will show you how to find Bone Shiv in Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
How to Get Bone Shiv in Texas Chainsaw Massacre
To get a bone shiv in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, you need to be on the lookout for bone piles on the ground. You will come across bone piles while exploring the basement and other areas. Interact with the bone piles and solve the minigame, like for the lockpick, and you will get your bone shiv.
The minigame is easy to solve. There are two meters; when the yellow is complete, you will solve the puzzle, but there is another meter – the grey one – which, when complete, alerts the family members of your presence. You need to press and release E so that the Yellow meter keeps filling and the grey meter does not fill up.
How to Use the Bone Shiv in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre
There are many uses of the bone shiv, the obvious one is to defend yourself, but you cannot attack the Leatherface from the front; you can only do it from the back. The other uses include disarming noise-making devices. As you explore the basement, you will come across things that make noise and can alert the family. One of these is bones hanging by a thread like tin cans. When you pass through them without crouching, you can make a noise that will alert the family. You can disarm this using the bone shiv.
Once out of the basement and in the house, you may also encounter a chicken in a cage. If you go close to the chicken, it will start making a noise that can alert the family. You can use the bone shiv to kill the chicken.
