Corpser is among the enemies who will challenge you when playing Gears of War: E-Day. It means that shooting it until it dies is not the way to do it, as you need to manipulate the environment in order to hurt it. There are several pillars available that can help you kill the enemy. Here’s how to damage the Corpser and defeat it.
How to Damage the Corpser
One easy way to take down the Corpser is by using the pillars that surround the entire area. Take cover behind any of them and attack the Corpser in order to draw its attention towards you. When it catches your scent, it will run towards you. At that moment, step aside at the right time, and let the Corpser bash into the pillar. The pillar will fall and deal a large amount of damage to the Corpser.
Repeat the Same Trick
Once the pillar is knocked down, the Corpser will enter the hole. Wait until it comes out, then look around for another pillar. Hide behind the pillar and shoot the Corpser so that it will attack you. Make sure that you move at the right time and leave the Corpser to knock down the pillar. Repeat this process until you knock down a number of pillars.
Watch Out for Wretches and Tickers
While you face the Corpser, you will also encounter Wretches and Tickers. They are not hard to defeat individually, but if you face a large pack of those, you could have trouble, especially if you try to evade the Corpser at the same time.
The Snub Pistol comes in handy in such a situation. You will be able to melee-wipe the Wretches quickly. Two melees will be sufficient to kill a single Wretch. As for Tickers, you should melee them so that you can push them back and get an opportunity to aim and shoot them.
When you shoot a Ticker which is very close to you, be prepared for its explosion, which might deal serious damage to you. In case you feel low on health, use a Stim or a Health Injector.
Bring Down the Roof
Once you have destroyed three pillars, Lucas will comment on how the roof seems ready to fall in. You may take this as meaning that you need to change your method; however, you don’t.
Do exactly the same thing again. Get behind a pillar, and lure the Corpser into attacking it by shooting it. Then move out of the way while letting the Corpser topple the pillar. When you have done enough damage, the roof will cave in and kill the Corpser.
