Action adventure games without bosses can’t be possible. Challenging bosses make the game more thrilling, and the God of War series has never disappointed players with boss fights. Similarly, God of War Ragnarok has several challenging Bosses to fight, and Gryla is one among them. Players may get a hard time defeating Gryla in God of War Ragnarok, so this guide will help you with the process of defeating Gryla in God of War Ragnarok.
God of War Ragnarok Gryla Boss Fight- How to Beat?
If you have been playing God of War Ragnarok, you have already defeated tons of mini-bosses during your journey, but Gryla is a boss and one of the most challenging enemies players face in the game. Her fighting process is unique. Generally, during a Boss fight, players need to hit a particular part of the boss’ body, but coming to Gryla, this process doesn’t work.
If you have met Gryla, you have probably seen that she has a big cauldron in her hands, and that is the weakness of the boss. Therefore, players need to hit the Cauldron. If you notice, you’ll find a bright purple portion in the Cauldron. Hit that part of the Cauldron to deal maximum damage.
Hitting the Cauldron will fill the stun meter of Gryla. The Stun meter is the white meter below the health meter; as you hit the Cauldron, the meter starts increasing, and when it is filled, the boss will be stunned for a few seconds, and players get an opportunity to hit the Cauldron with their knife. Hit as much as possible before she gets back to action.
Gryla is the first boss, Atreus face alone, without Kratos. So, players won’t get the Leviathan Axe or Blade of Chaos to hit the Cauldron. Instead, they must use Atreus’ Arrows to hit the Cauldron and defeat Gryla. However, Gryla is a slow-moving boss with deadly attacks. Her projectiles can drain half of Atreus’ health in one hit. So make sure to avoid her attacks.
At one point, Gryla will put her back to Atreus, so it’ll be hard for him to hit the Cauldron. At that time, players need to attract the attention of the boss and bring her near a Candle. Now, command Angrboda to use the candles to stun the boss for a few seconds, so Atreus gets enough time hit the Cauldron.
This fight will take some time, but it won’t be difficult with proper strategy. Don’t be impatient. Keep fighting the boss while avoiding her attacks simultaneously. You may need a few tries before you finally defeat Gryla, but you can do it for sure.
