If you’re starting to get into cooking and resource processing in Windrose, the Millstone is something you’ll need to unlock. It’s a simple but important crafting station that helps you turn raw materials into useful powders for food, farming, and even a bit of crafting. While it’s easy to build, there are a few requirements you need to keep in mind to make it work properly. In this guide, we’ll show you how to build a Millstone and how to use it effectively.
How to Build a Millstone

The Millstone is an important crafting station in the game that allows you to convert natural resources into powder, which you will require when making processed items such as flour and baked products. When unlocking the Millstone, it will become an important part of your food chain process, particularly if you want to cook baked items. The Millstone must be built under a roof and be located near the Bonfire for it to work effectively.
The construction process is fast and straightforward, taking just one second upon having your materials ready. You will need 15 pieces of wood and 15 Millstone Parts to construct the station. Unlocking the Millstone requires you to explore the Foothills biome and unlock Corn, a resource tied to flour and baked items production.
How to Use a Millstone

After successfully using the Millstone, you will be able to grind various objects into powdered form. Among these objects are Ashes and Bones that you can grind into Ash and Bone Meal, respectively; these two items are commonly used for crafting purposes. In addition, you can grind Corn and produce Cornmeal, an important material in many cooking recipes. Lastly, it is possible to craft Homemade Gunpowder via the use of the Millstone.
