Fight Preparation for Mohg
Mohg, Lord of Blood, deals bleed and fire damage. He owns a Trident that will cause pierce damage if you get too close. He can use both ranged and melee damage, which makes it hard to land some hits. Like most bosses, there are two stages to this fight. Before to take him on, you need to prepare yourself with the right equipment
- Mohg’s Shackles: This will help bind and stun Mohg so you have enough time to land some hits. You only get two chances of using this item, so use it at the start of the fight and before he gets to half health. This item is located in Leyndell, Royal Capital. Get down to the Subterranean Shunning-Grounds sewers where the two giant lobster/crayfish enemies are. There is a Site of Grace inside a room next to them that you can activate and save the game. The shackles is in the same area as the crayfish enemies
- Purifying Crystal Tear: Pair the Purifying Crystal Tear with Speckled Hardtear in your Wondrous Physick mix to help mitigate the health draining attacks of Mohg. You can find this item after defeating Eleonora, Violet Bloody Finger. She is located at the Second Church of Marika in Altus Plateau.
- Staunching Boluses: You can either equipped this or use the Lord’s Aid incantation to avoid excessive blood loss (hemorrhage) from Mohg’s attacks
How to Quickly Beat Mogh
Now, on to Mohg’s fight. Mohg is a stationary boss so most of the time you can attack him by rolling towards him and landing hits, thus avoiding his trident swings. Use a Mimic Tear or Black Knife Tiche to help you in battle, depending on your build. At the start of the battle, drink from your flask of crimson tears then use Mohg’s shackles. After that, quickly land Frostbite or Bleed/Hemorrhage hits. He is weak to ice and bleed since he mainly deals fire and bleed.
Once he is less than half health, switch to the flask of wondrous physick and take a swing from it. He will offer plenty of bleed damage at this point which is inescapable. Don’t worry about healing yourself if you have taken a drink from your flask, as the Purifying Crystal Tear will help negate bleed damage. Just keep close to him and land hits after hits with your Spirit Ash till he is down.
