Before you begin, you need to establish your village and build shelter. You can access the Housing section under the Building menu. Then, equip your hammer and start building houses. You will also require materials to build, such as planks, sticks, and logs. Once you have the required materials, you can build as many houses as you want. You will also need straws and other items to make furniture like beds, as only then you can assign a sleeping space for the villagers.

Now that you have a home, you can recruit villagers to join you. The first villager you can recruit is Ako, and you need to give her a place to stay. To do so, go to the Dynasty menu and click on the Population tab. Select the villager here, then click on Home. Select the house that hasn’t reached max capacity yet, then click on the bed option. If you have furnished your home, you can give the villager a bed to sleep on. If there are no beds available, you can either craft a bed, or pick another house. You can check how many villagers still require a home under the Population tab.
