To unlock Wiring, you need to complete the quest “Adding a café to my bookshop”. You will receive an email with the details on what you have to do for the quest, which will also teach you how to use the wiring tool. Once you complete the task, you can unlock the wiring tool as well as the paint roller. You can now fix up your later houses with the wiring tool to supply a single power source to your lights.
To set up wiring in your house, place a light switch nearby and drag the wiring line from the switch to the light source. The light source can be anything, a lamp or wall light. You can individually drag the wiring to each of these devices, or even group them together. To group them, you can simply drag the wiring from the switch to the light device, then from the light device you can connect to the other lighting devices nearby. This will automatically group all the wirings to one light switch. You can hover over the switch to see where the wiring has been connected to. You can also remove items from the group by pressing the indicated button shown below the screen
