Helldivers 2, the interstellar cooperative third-person shooter has taken the gaming world by storm continuing to break records. Sony’s FY23 earning call reveals that Helldivers 2 has surpassed 12 million copies sold worldwide.
Helldivers 2 has proven to be one of the most valuable games for Sony breaking the record of past games like Horizon and the God of War series. Helldiver’s 2 is the fastest-selling PlayStations game launch ever. God of War Ragnarok released last year sold 11 Million copies in 10 weeks, which was the best record of any PlayStation game.
Sony had projected the PS5 sales in the financial year ending 31st March 2024 to be 25 million units, but the actual sales fell short and were 20.8 million. Sony is estimating that PS5 sales to further decrease until the end of 2025. The company; however, has recorded 4.26 trillion yen sales, a 17% year-on-year increase, which it attributes to non-first-party titles like Helldivers 2 and DLCs.
