Completion of the quest, Forgotten Recipe in Gothic 1 Remake, involves finding and then cultivating Old Brock Recipes via the damaged recipe and getting all the missing ingredients. This guide will cover the old recipe location, locations of all ingredients, and tell you about cooking Brock’s Stew to complete the quest.

Find the Old Recipe and Talk to Snaf

To begin the Forgotten Recipe quest, go to the Old Camp and you will see red skins on the ground; enter the house and open the chest to get an Old Recipe note. Because there is too much ink on the Old Recipe note, you need to go to someone who can help you identify what the missing ingredients are.

Near the Castle yard, Travel North to find Snaf, the Old Camp’s cook, who is standing next to his cauldron. Present him with the Recipe for Old Brock’s Water Stew and he will provide you with directions to obtain the following ingredients:

  • 2 Scavenger Breasts
  • 2 Potatoes
  • 2 Onions
  • 2 Carrots
  • 2 Water
  • 2 Solanaceae flowers

Gather All Ingredients for Brock’s Stew

Head to Market Square in the Old Camp to purchase your potatoes, onions, carrots, and water from Dexter.

To acquire Scavenger breasts, exit the northern gate and travel to the island on your left as you cross the bridge. Defeat the two young scavengers found there and collect the required meat.

The Solanaceae flowers can be located in the cave inside the southern entrance of the Old Camp. Go into the cave and gather both of the flowers.

Cook Brock’s Stew and Complete the Quest

Once you have gathered up all the items needed for the recipe, return back to Snaf who will teach you how to make Brock’s Stew. Find a nearby free cauldron and cook your stew.

Once you have cooked the stew, return back to Snaf and present him your creation. Completing the Forgotten Recipe quest will reward you with both experience points and a unique recipe Brock’s Stew.
