The first time you will come across Honed Metal is while completing the Vulture’s Gold treasure map. You will come across this map after unlocking The Barrens area. As you keep progressing through the game, you will come across various treasure maps, so it is worth trying to solve them and get some valuable treasure.
Besides completing treasure maps, you can also uncover Honed Metal by unlocking red chests.
