Ghorim’s Replacement is a small quest in Gothic 1 Remake that occurs in Swamp Camp. In the quest, you will help Ghorim in finding a replacement for himself as he no longer wants to mash swampweed. This is a simple quest that requires the player to find a lazy worker and give him a lesson. Successfully completing the quest will give the player experience points and allow them to access another quest that will earn more rewards.
Ghorim’s Replacement Quest
First of all, you need to find Harlok and convince him that he should be taking over the place from Ghorim when it comes to crushing swampweed for Baal Orun. You can find Harlok in the laboratory of Cor Kalom at the Swamp Camp. Talk to Harlok after finding him, then select the following line of dialogue:
“Get your lazy ass to the herb mashers, or I’ll kick it all the way to Nordmar.”
The above dialogue line will make Harlok angry and start a combat with you. Harlok uses his fist attack, which means that you will have an easy time beating him up using your weapon. After beating him, go to where Ghorim is located and speak to him.
After completing the Ghorim’s Replacement side quest, you will get 300 XP. It also unlocks the Swampweed Harvest quest, allowing you to continue helping the members of the Swamp Camp and earn additional rewards.
