The Chaos meter will make the game easier or harder by including a timed meter. You have to complete the objective before the indicator on the Chaos meter falls on the other end. The higher the level, the quicker the Chaos meter fills up. If the meter fills up, chaos will engulf Fahrul and will spawn chaos hexes. These hexes will make it difficult for you and your party to navigate through the area. Ultimately, this can also end the game for you, so you would have to start a new adventure.
There are several instances where the chaos meter fills up. If the patience level of the Bandit King runs out, or if all the minecarts are delivered to their destination, then the meter will fill up and the adventure will be over. But the most common way the meter gets filled is if the timer runs out. Each time the chaos meter fills to a certain level, enemies start getting stronger. At first their health will increase 5%, then an extra 5% for each subsequent level. Once the meter is full, the Chaos Beast will appear, bringing chaos rain.
How to Reduce Chaos in For the King 2
Luckily, there are a few ways you can reduce Chaos and bring the levels under control
- Each region of Fahrul will host Chaos Generators and Cult Devices. You need to find them and pick the option to reduce the current chaos level. If chosen, then you will be a 1 reduction in Chaos level.
- You can also find Chaos Acolyte Camps around the many regions. They can be found if you have picked up the side quests within towns. This too will reduce the chaos levels by 1
- This option is risky, but you can quickly reduce the chaos levels by 1 or 2. Visit the Dark Carnival and play the Chaos Carousel. For each successful Luck roll, you can reduce the chaos level. But if you get only 1 successful roll, then the chaos level will increase by 1 instead. Also, failing the game will fill the meter.
- If you wish to find the chaos meter less frequently, you can adjust it via the chaos setting modifier. You can tweak the settings before starting a game and adjust the difficulty for you to encounter the chaos meter less.
