The Twitch error code 3000 can be very frustrating and nothing you do seems to help ease the problem. The message that comes with the error reads, “Your browser encountered an error while decoding the video.” With this message, we can assume that it may be one of the many causes such as an issue with the graphics card, maybe you have the graphics acceleration turned on. But, the main reason may be the browser itself. Maybe you installed a plugin or an existing plugin is causing the issue. Here are all the fixes you can try to resolve the problem.

Fix Twitch Error Code 3000

To get a quicker resolution, please follow the fixes in the order they are listed unless you have already tried one or more fixes.

Disable the TTV-LOL Extension

One of the first things you should do is disable the TTV-LOL extension and see if that fixes the problem. In the past, this extension has been known to cause issues with Twitch and has resulted in the 3000 error code. If the issue is still not fixed, try the next solutions.

Disable All Extensions

The next fix is to disable all extensions. To disable extensions, simply click on the extension icon on the top-right corner and choose Manage Extensions. From there you should be able to disable all extensions. Now, check if Twitch is working. If it then, enable one extension at a time locate the problematic extension, and keep it disabled.

Check OBS Audio Settings

If you are using OBS, choose to disable it completely or check the sound settings. Do you have it at 7.1 surround sound, if yes then change it and check if Twitch works. Make sure that your audio settings are compatible with the audio device you have installed.

Download and Install Media Feature Pack

Another issue that can lead to this problem is if you have not installed the Media Feature Pack in Windows 10. You need to go to tart>Apps and Features>Optional Features>Add a feature>Media Feature Pack. Download and install the feature pack and reboot the PC. This should fix your issue if you are on Windows 10 and have a fresh OS install.

Turn Off Hardware Acceleration

As discussed earlier, one of the main causes for the Twitch error code 3000 may be that you have the hardware acceleration on for your Browser or Discord, or maybe both. Disable the hardware acceleration. In Windows 11, you can go to System > Display > Graphics > Default Graphics Settings and disable the Hardware Acceleration. Check if that fixed the issue.

That’s all we have in this guide. We will update it when we have a new fix or there is an update from Twitch. Hope one of the fixes worked for you. if it did let us know in the comments.
