Call of Duty games are one of the most complex and huge in the market, which can make them prone to errors and bugs that go overlooked. Vanguard had a successful test beta last month and we saw quite a number of bugs and errors in the game. One of them is the Call of Duty: Vanguard Error Code Kadena-Keesler. From what we have seen, the error seems to be caused due to a fault with the user’s network hardware or configuration. It can also be caused by certain ISPs, but that’s not to suggest that a server glitch cannot lead to the error.
During the beta, we tried our best to replicate the error and were successful in one instance. Certain settings on your console network or PC may be the cause of the error. Stick around and we will help you fix the CoD: Vanguard Reason: Kadena – Keesler.
Call of Duty: Vanguard Error Code Kadena-Keesler Fix
Before we go ahead with the rest of the solutions, let me share what worked for us to resolve the error. We disabled the IP Helper and that fixed the error for us. IP Helper is a service you would find on your PC that helps in running remote databases and supports tunnel connectivity. For most users, this feature of Windows 10 is not necessary and consumes a lot of memory. It can sometimes cause connectivity issues with certain servers. Here is how to disable it.
- Press Windows + R and type services.msc
- Locate IP Helper, right-click, and select Stop
Try the above steps and launch the game after a reboot, check if it has helped fix the Call of Duty: Vanguard error code Kadena-Keesler. If not, go back and re-enable the service. It’s always best to keep the Windows at default unless the change in settings has a noticeable effect. If the fix did not work, re-enable the IP Helper.
As with most errors in games, there is often more than one cause that can result in an error. Keep reading as we list other potential solutions to resolve the Kadena-Keesler error.
Check the Vanguard Server Status
As this is an error that prevents you from connecting to the Vanguard servers, the first course of action when you get the error is to check the status of the servers. While the official website is great for planned downtime, it may not report glitches, which is why you should use other means to check the Vanguard server status, which is highlighted in the linked post.
Reboot Vanguard, PC, Console, Network Hardware
More often than not, a simple reboot of the game and the PC and network hardware can clear any connection issue with servers. So, that’s another thing you must do as soon as you get the error. If that does not help, here are the rest of the solutions.
Use a mobile hotspot or start the game with 3G
Sometimes a particular ISP can have difficulty connecting to some servers. You can verify if that’s the case with you by changing the ISP and trying to connect to the game. If the game works with another ISP, get in touch with your current one and request them to fix the problem. Try to play the game using a mobile hotspot and if you still get the error with the mobile hotspot change the network mode to 3G. Now, attempt to launch the game, if the game works, you can switch back to 4G once you are into the game.
Set Network Settings to Automatic (Xbox)
Another solution suggested by a user on Xbox was to set the network settings to automatic. Go to Network Settings > Advanced Settings > Set everything to automatic. Now, launch the game and check if the CoD: Vanguard Error Code Kadena-Keesler still appears.
Hard reset the Xbox, PlayStation, and Router
Hard resetting the console can clear out the bad cache that could be causing issues with either the network connection or the game itself. It’s a go-to solution for most issues on the console. To hard reset the Xbox console, press the power button for 10 seconds. When the console has shut down, release the button and remove the power cable. Wait for another 15 seconds and connect the power cords. Start the device. You can follow the same process for PlayStation and the Router.
Disable Port Forwarding
A user on Reddit was able to fix CoD: Vanguard Reason: Kadena – Keesler by disabling Port Forwarding, so you can give it a try as well. Go to the homepage of your modem, the address will be something like 192.168.1.1.
Once you are at the page, log in with the credentials provided by your ISP and head to UPnP Settings > Port Forwarding. From here, look for the option to disable port forwarding. Once it’s done, reboot the modem and try to play the game.
Activate DMZ
To activate DMZ, you need to find out the IP of your console. The process varies a little depending on your modem manufacturer, so refer to the guide of your manufacturer. Here is the basic process.
To find the IP of Xbox, Push the menu button on the Xbox > Go to Settings > Network > Advanced Settings > go to the IP Address section and note the IP address.
To find the IP of PS, from the main menu, go to Settings > Network > View Connection Status > Locate and note the IP address and Mac addresses.
Once you have the IP address and Mac addresses, open the homepage of your modem and log in with your credentials. You will find the DMZ settings under the NAT, Forwarding, or if there is an exclusive Applications & Gaming Section. Enable DMZ and enter your console IP address. If there is a destination field, enter the MAC address.
Give the game some time
With errors such as these, there is always the possibility of the error being due to some server glitch. Sometimes playing something else and returning to the game after a few hours suffices to fix the error. While you are at it, check the status of the servers. Even when the server may not be down, there may be a glitch causing the error for a few users. Playing the game after a few hours can fix the error.
Try using a VPN to play the game
Often times a VPN connection can help bypass errors such as these. So, if none of the above solutions have worked, we suggest that you give the VPN a try. If you are looking to buy one or use the free version, ExpressVPN is the best for gaming.
Reinstall the game to Fix Kadena-Keesler
It’s not a guarantee that reinstalling the game will fix the error, but users have reported that performing a clean reinstall did the trick. So, if none of the above solutions have worked, reinstalling Vanguard may be your final hope.
That’s all we have in this guide, hope you were able to fix the Call of Duty: Vanguard Error Code Kadena-Keesler. We will update this post when something new emerges. If you have a solution we didn’t cover, you can help others by sharing it in the comments.
