The earliest you can get Fine Gold Thread is after defeating Cyan Loong in Bitter Lake. There is a small chest in the area near the boss fight which contains Fine Gold Thread. You can find Cyan Loong near the Turtle Island shrine, near the shoreline of the lake. You need to first get Loong Scale from Chapter 2 to engage in the Cyan Loong boss fight.
