Before you begin, you should first craft your Flame Altar to start the manual crafting process. After that, run around your base and collect Twigs, Plant Fiber, and Stone. Craft String using Plant Fiber and an axe using Stone, Twigs, and String. You can find these options under the Crafting menu, under the Resources and Survival tabs. Now that you have an axe, chop wood to craft the Workbench. The Workstation requires wood and string for crafting, and you can find this option under Essentials tab in the Crafting menu
Now you have come to the final part, and that is crafting a storage chest. The earliest chest you can craft is the Tiny Chest. You can find this under the Survival tab of the Crafting menu. This requires 3x String and 6x Twigs. Take these items to the Workbench to get the storage chest.
