Before you can talk to Dryleaf Dane, you need to collect two items. The two items in question are the Monk’s Missive and the May the Best Win emote. Both these items can be found in Scadus Altus, near the Highroad Cross site of grace. Once you reach the site of grace, just head a little north. You will spot a purple glow on the left side. Interact with it to get both of these items.
Next, you need to visit Dryleaf Dane to start the duel. You can find him close to the Moorth Ruins site of grace. If you interact with the NPC, you won’t get a response. Rather, use the May the Best Win emote while near him, and he will start attacking you. The fight isn’t hard, and with a few hits from your weapon or spell he should be down. Pick up the Martial Arts weapon off his body to use it
