Besides purchasing the Tintreach Staff from Grisha’s Armory in Sacred Arbor, you can also get it for free. But it is hidden in a chest that is blocked behind an unbreakable wall. Luckily, there is a way to break it down. For this, you have to make your way to the above location, and you can get here by taking the northern exit out of Checkpoint Rest Town and heading east on the main path. You will eventually find a broken tower and a catapult nearby. There is also a broken oxcart at the base of the hill where the broken tower is so that you can investigate and get some loot. Make your way to the catapult and you will spot some boulders nearby. Take the boulder one by one and place it on the catapult to launch it into the air. You need to do this three times till the wall on the cliffside breaks.

Now all you have to do is find a way to get up there and unlock the chest to get the Tintreach Staff. There are several paths around the hill that will take you there, so pick up any one and climb up to the chest. You can now use the Tintreach Staff for free
