To quickly take down the Gigantus, you need to first get the Unmaking Arrow weapon. Head over to Bay Wayside Shrine and talk to the Dragonforged within to access his wares. You can only trade with him if you have Wyrmslife Crystals from defeating draconic beasts. Purchase the Unmaking Arrow, then start your preparations. You need to change your vocation to either Archer or the Warfarer and also own a bow. Now, make your way south of Bakbattahl. You can trigger the arrival of the Gigantus after completing A New Godsway quest. Once you exit through the secret door, you will spot the Gigantus making its way to the island.
Quickly sprint alongside it and try to get as close as possible to the Gigantus. It is best to go up the hill so you can get a better vantage point. Aim your Unmaking Arrow at the crystal on its body and shoot at them. You will know you have landed a successful hit if you notice glowing tendrils erupting from the hit site and the crystals start falling off. You only get one chance, plus the game auto saves when you fire the arrow. So take your time, aim and shoot. Once the Gigantus is barren of all crystals and has dropped its weapon, you need to wait till it reaches the entry point of the excavation site. The Gigantus will automatically drop dead, earning you the achievement
