Talk to Brant at night after you arrive in Vernworth’s Stardrop Inn to get some rumors on Disa. You need to make your way to Vernworth Castle at night and locate Disa’s office to get the clues. Once you reach the entrance of the castle, you can meet up with Sonia. You should note that she only appears at night, so change the time of day if you want to speed things up. She will take you to the Guardhouse, after which you two will part ways. Once you enter the Guardhouse, there is a chest inside on your right with the Marcher Set. This will help you blend in with the rest of the guards, so equip it before you venture further.

Leave the room by exiting through the door ahead and go past the door on your right. You will reach a large hallway, after which you have to turn right again to find an area with spiral pillars at the end. Go up the small flight of stairs here and go through the double doors.

Keep to your right side to find a spiral staircase. Climb up and pass through the archways. You have to find the Castle Offices room. Enter the office to find a torn letter. Pick it up and watch the cutscene, then escape through the open window. Return to Brant to complete the quest.
