In Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, Frieza’s campaign features two different paths you can choose from. Even though Frieza is a fan favorite among villains, his side path takes an unexpected twist in the proposed “What if” scenario. In this guide, you find all the details about his side story and the different possible endings through the branching paths.
All Frieza Branching Paths in DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO
When people think of villains in Dragon Ball, Frieza is often one of the first names that pops up. His saga introduced the first Super Saiyan transformation, making a huge impact on the series. So, it’s no surprise that Frieza has his own dedicated Episode campaign in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero.
In his Episode campaign, Frieza has two different Sparking paths: Fall of the Saiyans and Frieza Force Joins the Fray.
Fall of the Saiyans Branching Path
Fall of the Saiyans is the fastest and easiest Sparking Episode to unlock for all characters, but that doesn’t mean it’s any less epic. To unlock Frieza’s first Sparking Episode and alternative path, you need to defeat Super Saiyan Goku without transforming into his full power form. To achieve this, you’ll need to defeat Goku quickly. After you defeat Goku, Fall of the Saiyans Branching Path Episode will start and unfold.
Frieza Force Joins the Fray Branching Path
To start this branching narrative, you need to defeat Goku and Vegeta within a specific time limit in the Frieza Revived Episode. If you succeed, you’ll unlock Frieza’s second branching path “Frieza Force Joins the Fray”.
There’s a simple episode called Frieza’s Philosophy, where Lord Beerus, the God of Destruction, allows Frieza to use the Dragon Balls to bring back his fallen soldiers so they can compete in the Tournament of Power. He then offers Frieza four options: revive Cooler, revive Dodoria and Zarbon, revive King Cold, or revive the Ginyu Force. Here, It doesn’t matter which option you pick; you should have already earned the Achievement or Trophy for completing Frieza’s second Sparking Episode. However, each option leads to a different ending.
Frieza’s branching paths primarily focus on defeating enemies within a specific time frame. However, there is one notable exception that shares a similar condition with one of Goku Black’s branching paths. Below, we have outlined all the choices available in this side story and their corresponding outcomes:
- A Blast from the Past (Planet Namek Arc): Defeat all members within a certain time limit. If Goku shouts that his Spirit Bomb is charged before you fight him a second time, you will run out of time.
- Legendary Super Saiyan (Planet Namek Arc): Defeat the enemy without transforming.
- Frieza Descends on Earth (Android/Cell Arc): Defeat Trunks within the allotted time. If Trunks performs his Super Combo, you will take maximum damage and lose.
- Frieza’s Philosophy (Frieza Force Joins the Battle):
- Revive Cooler, which unlocks “Brothers Fight Together.”
- Revive King Cold, which unlocks “Parent-Child Tournament of Power” and then “Saiyans from Universe Six.”
- Revive the Ginyu Force, which unlocks “Frieza and His Special Squad” and then “Dangerous Foe.”
- Revive Dodoria and Zarbon, which unlocks “Frieza Challenged.”
