The Call of Duty series may be challenging, especially if you’ve skipped a few games. For example, if you last played Modern Warfare 2 and try to take it up again, you may feel completely lost. Activision claims that the Modern Warfare II Beta would provide gamers with a considerably more extensive multiplayer experience than regular Call of Duty games. This contains superbly designed maps in a variety of formats as well as excellent features.
For the uninitiated, crossplay is a feature that allows players on different console platforms to play together in the same game. It’s a staple of the current generation of multiplayer games, and Call of Duty is no stranger to it. But with the release of the latest entry in the series, will Activision be bringing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 crossplay?
Let’s find out in this guide.

Is Crossplay available in Modern Warfare 2?
As previously mentioned, every CoD game released after 2019 has had crossplay enabled, and Modern Warfare 2 is no different. This also includes the beta for the game. Currently, we are in Week One of the beta, which is only open to players on PlayStation 4 and 5, but Week Two will include players on Xbox One, Series X/S, and PC. Week Two is known as the Crossplay Beta, which means it will also include PlayStation players even though they had access to it a week earlier.
It seems that cross-progression will also be included in this game – which is great news for those of us who have multiple platforms and want to be able to transfer our progress instead of starting over from scratch. A large reason why people want to be able to keep just one account for this game is that it’ll be somewhat tied to Warzone 2.0. Progression in weapons, the eventual battle pass, and more is something you don’t want to have to start over with.
Forbes confirmed Crossplay support for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 after seeing a preview for the game. It’s great to see this feature being added, as it wasn’t surprising given that the last three Call of Duty games have all featured crossplay support. What’s even more amazing is that Warzone 2 crossplay will also be available in the new iteration of the battle royale.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will release on October 27, 2022. This guide provides an overview of crossplay in Modern Warfare 2. For more information about new features and updates for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, visit our website or check out some of our other articles.
