Mutterlock Chests are often confused with Silent Chests by the way they appear, but when you interact with them, something strange happens. Instead of unlocking the treasures within, you will get a menu of phases. You have to pick the right phase to unlock the chest. To know which phase is correct, you have to walk around the dungeon and find Whispering Stones. There are three whispering stones not too far from the chest, so walk around to spot them. They are called the Birth Inscription, Life Inscription, and Death Inscription.
If you interact with them, it will whisper a dialog that you can read at the bottom of the screen. You need to listen to the Whispering Stones in the order of Birth, Life, and Death. If you put all the words together, you will get a phrase. Revert back to the Mutterlock Chest and select the right option to unlock it.
