Dead Island 2 lets you dish it out with the zombie horde, and along the way, you can get new weapons, meet new NPCs, and collect various loot. While completing the quest for certain NPCs, they will require specific objects. One of the NPCs you will meet is Francesca, and she will require certain materials for her art project. The best zombies who will drop Mutated Hearts are Mutator Zombies. Check the Beverly Hills map for a Mutator Zombie hotspot. Usually, they are found in Rikky Rex’s residence up the hill. You will get to this place while completing the side quests for Rikky Rex called Resurrect the Rex and The Ballad of Rikky Rex. This will also help you unlock his residence, so try and complete those side quests before you start the Body Art side quests.
If the Mutator Zombie does not spawn for you, you should try and complete the main campaign, especially quest #21 – Search for the Truth. Once you do, head over to Rikky’s residence and check the floors. They are usually found lurking on the top floor. After killing them, reload to the main menu to reset all the zombies, which will also make the Mutator reappear. Kill them two more times to get three Mutated Hearts.
Head back to Francesca’s studio and drop the Mutated Hearts into the art bin to complete the Body Art: Dread side quest.
