Some quests in Black Myth Wukong will stretch across several regions, so you need to keep an eye out for certain NPCs and make sure you don’t miss them. Ma Tianba Horse Guai is one such NPC that you have to find and talk to in all locations to complete the questline. If you happen to cross Horse Guai, make sure to talk to him and exhaust all your dialogs before moving on. This is crucial in completing the questline and obtaining the Dark Thunder Transformation
Horse Guai Ma Tianba Location 1
In Chapter 1, make your way to Black Wind Mountain > Bamboo Grove > Back Hills. From the shrine, go around on your left and keep going down the path while sticking to your left side. You will enter a small cave where you will first meet Horse Guai
Horse Guai Ma Tianba Location 2
Now enter Chapter 2’s Yellow Wind Ridge. Over here, head over to Sandgate Village > Village Entrance. Turn around and do a 180 away from the shrine and walk a bit towards the broken hut in the distance. There is a dirt path on your right side that you should take and enter the foliage. Keep an eye out on your left to find a shabby wooden fence. Enter through there and go around the huts by turning left. You will find a temple archway, go through it. Go straight while keeping to your right and you will find Horse Guai leaning against the pillar
Horse Guai Ma Tianba Location 3
You can now make your way to The New West in Chapter 3. Make your way to New Thunderclap Temple > Temple Entrance. Head over to the location where you would have to fight Non-Void. But instead of entering the flight of stairs that leads to the boss, rather exit the wooden door after getting to the top of the temple and turn to your left. You will spot Horse Guai standing behind one of the left side pillars at the end of the corridor
Horse Guai Ma Tianba Location 4
You can meet Horse Guai a fourth time in The Webbed Hollow. You have to head over to Webbed Hollow > Middle Hollow. From the shrine go down the path on your right and jump down the wooden planks. Pass through the white sacs while keeping to your right side and jump down towards the pile of skulls(?). Defeat the Centipede Guai boss and exit through the leftmost hole in the wall.
Keep to your right at first, then keep to your left till you spot some hanging torches and a large white sac ahead. Break the sac to find Horse Guai
Dark Thunder Transformation Spell Location
Head over to Flaming Mountains > Furnace Valley > Valley Entrance in Chapter 5. Defeat Misty Cloud and Cloudy Mist bosses and go further to defeat Keeper of Flaming Mountains/ Yin-Yang Fish. Head back to Valley Entrance shrine and again go through the path on your left. Keep going left till you find the path sloping down on your right side. Cross the lava stream and keep going straight while sticking to your right
You will spot a large statue of a dragon/lion nearby. Pull the thread that is sticking out from the statue’s mouth to get a whip and the Dark Thunder spell
