In Black Myth: Wukong, spells are magical abilities requiring mana. They could affect enemies, the player himself, or call forth allies. There are four spell categories: Transformation, which uses Might, and three others that use mana with cooldowns.
Besides the various temporary transformations, combat spells are divided into Strands, Mysticism, and Alteration. Each category has its spell slot. Therefore, players can only have one active spell in each category simultaneously. Players need to visit a Shrine if they want to switch active spells.

1. Immobilize
- Cost: 50 Mana
- Cooldown: 50 Seconds
Immobilize, the first spell acquired in Black Myth: Wukong, is a powerful Mysticism control spell. It instantly binds enemies, making them vulnerable to increased damage and providing a crucial pause during intense battles. While it’s generally indispensable, there might be rare situations where stronger enemies can break free too quickly.
How to get: Immobilize is obtained early in Chapter 1 during the Bullguard boss fight. With upgrades, it becomes a powerful tool for controlling battles and interrupting enemies at crucial moments.
2. A Pluck Of Many
- Cost: 120 Mana
- Cooldown: 120 Seconds
A Pluck of Many is a versatile spell that summons multiple duplicates to attack a boss, providing damage, healing opportunities, and tactical advantages. As the spell is upgraded, the number of duplicates and their abilities increase.
A Pluck of Many, while a potent offensive spell, has drawbacks. It has a high cost, long casting time, and can be interrupted. Additionally, the summoned duplicates may not always perform optimally, and some bosses may ignore them.
How to get: To unlock this spell, players must defeat the Tiger Vanguard boss and find a hidden passage in Chapter 2 beneath a pool of blood.
3. Cloud Step
- Cost: 40 Mana
- Cooldown: 35 Seconds
Cloud Step is an Alteration spell that allows the player to create a decoy, become invisible, move quickly, and deliver a decisive surprise attack with increased damage and critical hit chance. Its low cost and versatility make it a valuable skill.
How to get: Cloud Step is obtained in Chapter 1 after defeating the Black Wind King boss. The boss may also use this spell.
4. Rock Solid
- Cost: 30 Mana
- Cooldown: 10 Seconds
Rock Solid is an Alteration spell that can negate incoming attacks, deflect them, and stagger opponents. It requires precise timing but offers a quick cooldown, low mana cost, and can be enhanced by certain armor sets and curios.
How to get: Rock Solid is obtained in Chapter 2 after defeating the Tiger Vanguard boss, who also uses this spell.
5. Ring Of Fire
- Cost: 60 Mana
- Cooldown: 50 Seconds
Ring of Fire is a Mysticism spell that creates a protective ring, increasing resistance to damage, recovery, and consumable effects. It’s best used defensively when the player is low on health. While helpful, it might not be as powerful as other Mysticism spells.
How to get: Ring of Fire can be obtained in Chapter 3 after defeating the Macaque Chief for the second time in the Temple Courtyard and speaking to the NPC.
To maximize combat effectiveness, prioritize learning dodging and countering skills alongside spells that offer long-lasting effects and powerful attacks. This strategy allows you to eliminate your enemies efficiently.
