Before we begin, let’s take a look at what each faction brings to the game. The four main factions are Pyke Syndicate, Ashiga Clan, Hutt Cartel, and Crimson Dawn
Pyke Syndicate
The first faction you encounter in the game is the Pyke Syndicate. Siding with them offers an easier way of gaining reputation in early games. Besides this, they also own the most territories, so you will always find their base in most planets that you encounter. Besides this, their Imperial Disguise gear set offers stealth and evasion abilities, especially while passing through Imperial territories. This gear set also improves Kay’s Blaster capabilities.
Ashiga Clan
If you don’t have a lot of time to complete faction missions, then the Ashiga Clan is the easiest one to pick. Their missions generally involve completing develiver or escort jobs, which can be done in a short while. The Ashiga Clan is isolated to just one planet, Kijimi. Their Kijimi Explorer gear set at max reputation offers more damage output and damage reduction when equipped, and also offers HP regeneration when Kay is at low health. If you have the Gear Set Bonus, then these effects get amplified. They have limited main story presence and they have conflict with the Crimson Dawn
Hutt Cartel
The Hutt Cartel is great if you are looking for a gear set focused more on combat, as it offers Grenade buffs and damage resistance. This faction is known for their brute force and physical aggression. But they have lesser importance than other factions since they appear later in the main story. You will find the Hutt Cartel around Tatooine and in some areas of Akiva. Like the Ashiga Clan, they have less presence in the main story.
Crimson Dawn
The Crimson Dawn is another faction that heavily influences the main story. They are usually in cahoots with the Pykes and Ashiga, so siding with the Crimson Dawn will mean lowering your reputation with the other two factions. The Crimson Reign Gear set is best if you wish to have a stealthier approach to the game and is great for utility purposes. You can get buffs on your smoke bombs and stun shots with this gear set
Which Faction Should You Pick?
For early gameplay, it is best to stick with the Pyke Syndicate, as they are more powerful and offer more to the game’s storyline. There is a lot more to do under the Pyke Syndicate that will help you farm reputation quickly. But if you are looking for a more combat based playstyle, then you can either go for the Ashiga Clan or the Hutt Cartel, but you will have to compromise on earning Reputation
You can still try and max out your reputation with all factions by picking up Contracts from the Contract Brokers. These contracts are repeatable so you can complete them as many times as you want for each faction and farm reputation with them
