Baldur’s Gate 3 offers more than a usual RPG game. There are several quests you can pick up and plenty of tasks as well. During your exploration of the Grymforge in Underdark, you will encounter a trapped True Soul Nere. You need to free him before you can get the quest advancement from him. But to free him from the rubble, you need to find Explosive Powder and Smokepowder Satchels. Make your way toward the docks on the northeast side of Grymforge. You will soon encounter a metal door on the east wall, south of where the Duergar is tossing corpses into the water. Enter the metal door, you will notice your party making Perception checks. At the end of the passage is a button near the collapsed archway. Push the button and pass through the door. In the next room, you will notice a chest and two Smokepower Satchels. Loot the chest and pick up the satchels, then make your way back to True Soul Nere.
To use the explosive, first toss the satchel at the rubble, then follow that up with any fire spell. Be sure to give time to the other NPCs to evacuate the area. Once the rubble is cleared out, you can talk to True Soul Nere to pick up a new quest. You can even loot a broken Moonlantern here, which will help you while trying to get through the Shadow Cursed Lands.
